Question, is it just me or do you assign duties while traveling as a family? For us, Kyle is in charge of figuring out the public transportation. I simply can’t be bothered. I do all the booking and flights, he handles the logistics of getting around.

Rating each place we’ve been this year with our kids based on what we expected we would rate it versus what we would actually rate it now that we’ve been.

**if you’re someone who gets easily offended by other peoples opinions/experiences… this post isn’t for you 😅 while I understand (and acknowledge) EVERYONE will have different opinions and views on destinations… these our just OURS. I hope you can find some lightheartedness to this post and not take it so serious that you’re outraged over our families ratings 🫣😂 and with that… here they are.

Oahu Hawaii: we have traveled to other Hawaiian islands prior to this trip and although our expectations were high that we would enjoy our visit to another Hawaiian island…. we had heard that Oahu was one of the less popular islands. BUT, to our surprise we actually REALLY enjoyed our two months in Oahu just as much (if not more than) as the other islands have previously been to.

North Island New Zealand: you picked a perfect time to visit during New Zealand summer. We had also heard that South Island was a better choice so our expectations were low for north Island. But nonetheless, we were so blown away with the beauty of New Zealand and can’t wait to get back and see South Island.

Sydney, Australia: this destination I think I built up in my head to be amazing because of the Sydney Opera house, but it turned out to be just an okay visit and only a week in Sydney was enough for us.

Bali, Indonesia: we’ve only heard good things about Bali, so our expectations were high but not super high. But we were absolutely blown away with how kind and generous the people of Bali were. We also visited some amazing cities and places while in Bali for 2 months.

Maldives: this place is pretty much all it was probably our family‘s favorite place. I’ve traveled to EVER.

Türkiye: we hadn’t heard much about Türkiye so our expectations were low. We assumed It was probably a boring country and it turned out to be one of the best countries we’ve been to with the nicest people.

Cairo, Egypt: I posted plenty on this experience. We definitely had high expectations for this trip and it just wasn’t it.
